Scythe: Game Board Extension Board Game

Scythe is one of the most popular titles from the Stonemaier Games range. In fact, it's one of the most popular games in the modern gaming market! Scythe might well be designer Jamey Stegmaier's magnus opus.

It's set in an alternate Europe, where giant mechs stomp across the terrain, alongside humans who work the land. Up for seven players compete - via action selection - to try and accomplish goals across a vast map. (Seven players of course, if playing with The Wind Gambit expansion!)The size of the map never changes, when you play Scythe with more players. The space available to control becomes all the rarer, more valuable, as more pieces spread out across the board. That's not a bad thing - it makes for a competitive experience! But it can also make for a 'cramped' one. But not to fear!

 You need the Scythe: Game Board Expansion! The standard board in Scythe measures 624x818mm. That's by no means small, but imagine if it were bigger! Well, have you checked out the reverse of the regular board? You'll see part of the same map, but zoomed in to a closer scale. This product is the other part of that map. If you add this board expansions into the mix, it slots alongside it. Now you have the same map, but with total dimensions of 818x939mm!The game remains the same. No rules to change, or different pieces needed.

But with the Scythe: Game Board Expansion, this world of mechs and wooden pieces feels larger. Grander. The scale skyrockets! The hexes themselves are so much bigger, while the components remain the same size. It's so much easier to see everything on this larger map! Once you play Scythe on a map this size, you'll find it tough to revert back to the regular board...Please note that this not a game in its own right; this is an extension to the Scythe base game.
